Today was our last demo.
We presented our progress on the installation to Boris and Harry. They tested the letters we had built and gave us useful advice about the installation.
Our installation is not yet finished but Boris said that he is not worried at all, at this point. He saw that we are currently working on the last two letters and that we are vert close to finishing them.
We also presented to Boris the progress, from the last demo presentation, on the other important things in the project, such as social media promotion, sponsoring, and target group research, as well as results from user testing.
FEEDBACK:
Boris and Harry had a positive feedback on the digital interactions of the letters. They also took a look at the website. Boris liked it, and the only thing that he and Harry said about it, was that the text in the menu is too small and they advise us to make the buttons and the text bigger.
E (Events):
The feedback about the first E was mainly positive. Boris liked the interaction and the only thing that he said was that he is missing a detail that suggests the interaction. We then showed him the music key that we had just painted in red paint. We told him that are going to glue the music key on the letter, and he said that this will work and will definitely suggest the interaction.
N (Nature):
The N is not yet finished, but Boris was able to test the interaction and he said that it is alright.
For the C (culture) and H (History), Boris had very useful advice. He suggested us to give a task to the users who are using the C. The letter is covered with whiteboard foil and people can write/draw on it. Boris said that if people are given a task, it is more likely that they are going to write/draw something, and if they are not given a task, they might not know what to write, and then they will not interact with the letter.
He also suggested us to put information on the H, instead of just pictures, because people who are interested in the history of Enschede would like to know more about it. He said that pictures are fine, but when given information together with the pictures, the letter gives more value to the users.
The D and the last E are not finished, so Boris could not give us feedback on them.
Another thing that Boris told us, was that we should use the icons from the QR codes, for the information text, which we are going to put on the installation.
