Today, we had another consultation lesson with Remco, but since we had already seen him yesterday, we just kept working on our own. There were several topics that we wanted to cover, but due to time restrictions we only managed to talk about two of them: assigning the team blog posts and the rough time planning.

Blog Planning

We distributed the responsibilities for the team blog posts as follows:

  • Week 1 - Julia

  • Week 2 - Julia

  • Week 3 - Alex

  • Week 4 - Marijke

  • Week 5 - Nina

  • Week 6 - Marije

  • Week 7 - Dzhulia

  • Week 8 mon-wed - Julia

  • Week 8 thu-fr - Marijke

  • Week 9 mon-wed - Dzhulia

  • Week 9 thu-fr - Alex

Especially, in the last two weeks, no one was keen on doing any blog posts but we think that this is a quite fair way of distributing the responsibilities.

Rough Scheduling

We started with our rough schedule for the time of the project. This is how far we got.

Week 2

Technology:

  • Make a list of materials

  • Decide on an input technology of the LEDs

  • Decide on the pedestals and where to place the screen

Design:

  • Stylesheet & moodboard

  • Logo

  • Letter design (from sketch to elaborate), 3D Prototype

Marketing:

  • Decide which media to use and why

  • Contact sponsors

  • Target group research

Week 3

Technology:

  • Test the technology (sensors, actuators) → Final decisions

  • Already order some of the materials (e.g. LED strips, whiteboard)

  • Make a programming test of the LED strips (Processing)

  • Start learning the technology for the communication from tablet to Arduino

Design:

  • Final design of the letters

Marketing:

  • Street survey?

Week 4

Technology:

  • Cardboard prototype of letters for which a prototype is necessary (Nina will bring the cardboard)

  • Test the sensors and actuators on the prototype

  • Order the materials

  • Solder the LED strips

Design: (nothing yet)

Marketing:

  • We have sponsors!

It is a start, but we have to invest more time into really setting goals for the different sprints. Unfortunately, we have so many lessons that time of our own is really a scarce resource.
