Today I started working on the illustrator files of the letters. I did this in the train on my way home because I was going on vacation with Hemelvaart. I started with the E because we need three of those.

I first made the letters (50x30cm) after this I started making the sides. With making the sides I had to think about the thickness of the wood. Because if you don’t calculate that in and use the exact measurements that you want the letter (10cm deep) the letter would have been 18cm deep. This would have happened because of the front and the back part of the letter. You also want the corners to fit correctly. So the top piece of wood needs to be 8mm shorter so it will fit in between the side parts.

To calculate and think of all these measurements was a bit of a challenge because I did not have an actual physical prototype with me.
