Week 6: building of the pedestal

Today I went to Gronau to Julia’s house together with Dzhulia. There we started on building the top part of the pedestal.

Fist we had to cut a diagonal part on the sides of the pedestal so that these would not stick out above the top part of the pedestal.

The measurements of the wood were not all correct witch made Dzhulia freak out because she thought that it would not fit anymore. After two seconds of puzzling I found out how we could still fit all the pieces together.

After we did this we asked Julia her landlord to help us with the start of de drilling. He showed us how to do it in the best way. After he showed us the first screw we did the rest ourselves. At first it looked like the diagonal part of the pedestal didn’t fit. But after some sanding down of the corners it luckily fit perfectly.

I staid till one of the two pieces of the pedestal was done. After this I left because it started to get dark and I still needed to bike back to Enschede.
