Week 6: feedback from teachers

On Wednesday morning we had a meeting with Margit and Herman. They told us that the pedestal might be too big because it will be 2,76 meters long. They told us that it will probably be easier if we make it a little smaller. Because this will mean that we will have to buy less wood, and that it will also take less time to paint. Afterwards we talked about what to do about this. We decided to keep it as it is, because it will look better like this. And we already have the letters ready to cut with the lasercutter. If we decided to make the pedestal smaller that would mean that the size of the letters had to change as well. So in the end it would not necessarily decrease our time spent on the installation. After we talked about possibly scaling down the pedestal we also decided to buy new wood for the pedestal because it will look better if we don’t use fabric for it. But if we want to paint it all the wood needs to be the same to make it look good

We also had a consultation with Johannes and Remco. With Johannes we talked a little bit about the research Nina did for our new survey and how we can improve it. For example we had to specify a couple of questions to get a better result with the answers, he also said that we needed a bit more rating questions and that we needed to ask more about our installation.

The first thing Remco said when we talked to him was how do you sell the installation. With that he meant that we deeded more of a backstory of the installation for people to find out. We need to think about why we made the installation and why is it there. What do the letters mean and why.
