Week 7: Gears

I asked a friend if he could help me with making the gears in solidworks. He already worked with gears before and he knows how solidworks works.

First we made the front of the E so that we could see what the gears would look like if they were on the letter. After we did this we made the first gear and to test if it would work the way we wanted to. Then we made a sketch of where the gears should go.

After we finished this sketch we made the rest of the gears and when we where done with this we made holes inside them in the shape of a cross. This is so that I can put a lasercutted cross inside which can go through the letter.

When we finished the gears and the cross holes we made the round holes in the E. The holes in he E needed to be round so that the gear can turn inside of this hole.
