Today was our third demo that we tackled with only two people: Alex and Julia. All of the other team members had a day off in order to study for the Web Development redo. We want to say a big Thank You to Boris for allowing this.
Presentation
The presentation was finished this morning, the first part was held by Julia and the second one by Alex. We managed to finish on time and present all the information in a structured way, which was already a great improvement compared to the previous demo. During the presentation, only a few questions were asked and most of them revolved around the music: We still have not decided if we want to use licence-free music or allow users to connect their devices to our installation. This would be way cooler but is also harder to realise. We got some really nice input from the other teams, for example that we could use the same functionality in our installation as in the DJ booth at the train station.
Feedback
The feedback from Boris and Yvens was really positive! They said that it was a great presentation. They only had a few points to criticise. Our weakest points were still the target group research, the prototyping and the testing. In these points, our self-evaluation differed from theirs. Also, Yvens was still not happy with the fact that you interact with the letters but at the same time, people want to take pictures in front of the installation.
What they also disliked was our idea to put interaction on the N instead of the H. They said that the H was more boring and would need some interaction, while the N was already interesting enough by itself. The problem about that is that we're in Week 7 and it's a bit too late for such a big change. We have already bought all the hardware and are ready to code.
Last but not least, we had a little discussion with them about the category Entrepreneurial Skills. They said that they could not give us a 3 in this category, although they had been really impressed with our sponsorship with Hubo. But on the other hand, we had not done enough target group interaction, according to them. We doubted that a bit - we have 56 likes on Facebook and 65 Instagram followers - you don't get that from nothing. Also, we post Instagram stories every day. But we forgot to mention that in the presentation. Boris agreed but said that he could not (yet) give us a high grade in this category, but we are on a good way.
