Today, Dzhulia, Marije, Alex and I did our interaction test with four of the letters because we want to be prepared for the presentation on Friday. We have four interactive letters: The events E, the nature N, the shopping S and the evening E.

"Events" E

The interaction on the E will be an equaliser LED strip that reacts to music. We wanted to test if the LED strip would blink in the rhythm of the music and if it could also change the colour. Therefore, we put the LED strip into the first E and started playing music via our bluetooth speaker that we put right next to the receiver of the LED strip. And it worked:

"Nature" N

The next digitally interactive letter is the N for "nature". On the N, there will be several paper roses, some of which are attached to servo motors and can thus turn. The servo motors are triggered with a pressure sensor. And this also works well:

"Shopping" S

The third letter on which we wanted to test the interaction is the S. The front of this letter is covered by a white, silky fabric, and behind it is the Neopixel that we bought from René. It will be programmed by Alex. Although he has not figured out how to establish the connection between the Samsung Galaxy Tab and the Arduino yet, we can already test the simpler interaction that he created with AppInvent. In this application, you can select the top, middle and bottom part of the letter and give each one a seperate colour.

"Evening" E

The last letter with digital interaction is the E for the nightlife. Through the small starry cutouts, yellow light shines when you approach the letter. This is triggered by a Sharp distance sensor. And we were very happy to see that the test went well!
